Decay Trials

These are the decay trials that I have created in Photoshop. I have taken a beautiful image of a model and I then layered up an image of an old man and a skull and used the rubber tool to bring them through into the foreground, creating a decayed/old look to the models face.

As you can see below, the wrinkles on the models forehead have come from the image of the old man that is is below and I have blended it through into the models face.

Above, I have then started to rub out the eye socket and reveal the skull that was placed underneath and I have also brought through the texture of the skull on the forehead, which has created a bubble effect on her skin.

This was my second trial that I have done above, using the same technique, bringing through the wrinkles and the skull.

To create an even stranger effect, I used an image of a little girl and I wanted to show the beautiful and the ugly, by bringing through a range of wrinkles from the old mans face. As you can see, I have only brought them through on one side of her face, to show the comparison between the her beautiful natural skin and then the old, decayed skin.

Above is the skull that I used to bring through into the faces.

I then started to play around with my own primary photo's by bringing through the wrinkles of my 'decay photographs' of my grandad's skin and then blending them through onto my face. This was just really trialling the idea that I had for my final piece.

Again, above I have used my own primary photo's of flowers and faces and I have experimented with the flowers to see how they would work together with the faces. This links in with Alberto Seveso as things are showing through the face.

Above, I have just changed the opacity so that you can see how I started off aligning up the images to rub them out and have the wrinkles showing through onto the face above.
