I have also taken some photography of flowers, to link in with the idea of multiple images and they are something that is known to decay very easily. The idea of taking photographs of flowers and landscapes, which are shown early on my blog also, is because they link in with the double exposure artists that I found - Christoffer Relander and Matt Wisniewski.
Here are my images:
I have started a tonal study of one of my grandad images, by changing it to black and white, showing the decay features within his skin even more, bringing out the lines around his eyes and mouth:
You can see the tonal study above as it has developed and the lines of his wrinkles have started to come through, sort of like showing the decaying process as he ages. This links in with the jump from young to old because within the first image, there aren't many wrinkles on his face; however when I have finished the tonal study, there is, showing how people do age over time, linking to my theme of decay in a subtle way, bringing through my ideas.
These are the images that I plan to develop my decay work with and use for my final piece. The images that I have taken of myself were done on a timer. I set up a tripod with my camera set to the correct depth of field, as I had someone sit infront of the camera where I was going to be positioned and this allowed me to ensure that I had the correct shallow focus that captured the detail within the face. Once the camera was set to the correct focus, I then set it away on a timer and this is how I took these photo's.
