Artists Influencing My Project

Over the past few weeks, I have found a large range of artist that link in really well with my project theme of decay and also multiple images.

Alberto Seveso
This artist has influenced me in terms of the idea of adding beautiful images onto a beautiful face, which is shown below. This links in with the idea of decay also, as different flowers etc are coming from beneath the skin and there are also some sections of the faces that are showing different pattern work through which links in with the form of decay and multiple images, as the skin is being broken down into different layers, showing a decay form within a multiple image piece.

This artist links in with my final piece designs that I am hoping to create, as I have both images of myself and also images of flowers that I am hoping to combine in someway to show how something beautiful can be turned into something that decays and ages over time. I will post these trials and designs closer to the exam.

Adrien Donot

Again, this artist is particularly similar to the style of work that Seveso has produced, as he also has pattern work on the skin; however Alberto Seveso tends to show his pattern work underneath the skin, rather than using the spray painted effect like Donot. Also they show their pattern work in different ways, I like both of these artists and I think that their techniques will be shown throughout my final piece, as I feel that I will be doing a digital piece.

Adam Martinakis
I feel that this artist really links in with the theme of my project, decay, as the technique that he has used to create the faces on the above image links in with the wrinkle like idea that I had from taking the images of my grandad, emphasising his wrinkles.

I think that this technique really does relate to my project and it will link in the theme of decay coming through in my final piece.

Jennifer Healy

As I mentioned previously in this post, I want to combine my face and images of flowers together in some way for my final piece and I feel like this artist links to the idea of having things coming through the face etc and having things around the face. The pattern around the eye, in a way links in with the idea that I having to have things showing through the skin to signify decay; however the kind of 'petal-like' work that is coming through that eye is acting like flowers in my eyes, as that is kind of how I picture my final piece.

I think this artist will like in with my final piece in some way.

Dingli

This artist links into the theme of decay extremely well, as you can see there are cracks coming through the skin on her face, which suggests that she is getting old although she only appears to be a young girl.

This links in extremely well with my final piece idea, as I am wanting to show wrinkles and decay coming through the skin on my face, linking with both decay and multiple images. I have done some trials that I will post above this post.
